          Railway Mixed High School, Erode, located near Erode Railway Station was established in 1916, as a Primary School in Southern Railway. Spread over nearly 23000 sq.mts. Within the Railway Colony, disseminating the sanctity of Cauvery–Bhavani River confluence, which is just 16 km from the School.

          The school was upgraded as an High School in 1997. Following the Anglo Indian syllabus, the school rose to one of the best schools established by Railways, by producing best results in the SSLC examinations.

          At present, the school has 23 talented teachers and has a strength of 520 students – both boys and girls. The school has produced 100% result in SSLC Examination for the past three consecutive years. During 2013-14 academic year, the school topper in SSLC exam secured 496 out of 500 marks and stood 1st rank among all the other Railway Schools and secured 4th rank in the Tamil Nadu state. The School got affiliated to CBSE in the academic year 2015 - 16.

          Besides offering best education to students, we encourage and ensure their active participation in various extra-curricular activities such as sports, scouting, science fairs and cultural programmes.  Further wider world of learning is kept open through various Clubs viz. National Green Corps (NGC), Junior Red Cross (JRC), Literary Association, Karate, Yoga Club and Humour Club.

          Our school has a very big playground, well-equipped science laboratory and computer centre (Smart Class) and a library – with vast collection of books. The playground and the children’s park provide ample opportunity and facility for the school children to have enough recreation.

          Next year, the School celebrates its centenary celebrations and it follows a well-planned time table to impart enough learning on physical training, Hindi, Yoga along with regular academic studies.

          With earnest support from our Railway Administration and efficient and dedicated staff, the institution is keen on moulding the children into perfect personalities with a futuristic view of shaping a brighter India.
